The miracle of Bosnian forgiveness

The willingness of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to forgive is difficult to explain, but has been reconfirmed many times. It is the result of the terrible suffering that they were forced to undergo, but also the result of hope that such pain will never again happen to anyone, the wish for reconciliation and lack of vindictiveness in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which manifests itself in numerous and frequently unexpected ways. It proves that these people have not lost their humanity, the only thing that, in addition to one's life, was worth preserving during the war, but also the easiest to lose.

Bowing to Investors – “Handing Over Gacko to a shady company”

The authorities in Gacko are determined to transfer ownership rights of nearly 62 thousand square meters of land, along with the barracks building in Avtovac, to the Republika Srpska ‘ Chinese company "SolarWin", registered in Banja Luka. Despite the company having no employees or business activities, the authorities in Gacko are confident that it will bring new jobs, so they are willing to disregard their own decisions.

Cultural heritage: One hundred and eighty million dollars lost in the maze of jurisdictions

All levels of authority in Bosnia and Herzegovina annually earmark USD 50 per capita for preservation of cultural and natural heritage. However, our cultural and natural heritage is largely devastated, privatized or threatened by the interests of private investors regardless of the millions of convertible marks intended for its preservation and protection. The reasons for this state of affairs should be sought in the maze of statutory jurisdictions and political interests.

They spend hundreds of millions of marks through Annex II monthly

Provision of services worth more than BAM 428 million was sought through Annex II of the BiH Public Procurement Law in just one month of the last year, and the most money is spent on the health care. The rest was used for the procurement of catering and administrative services and the organization of seminars, concerts or for various media productions, and practice has shown that these millions are, at best, spent with weak supervision by the authorities.

Government “Squandered” 2.9 Million Euros for Nevesinje – Berkovići Road

The Kingdom of the Netherlands will not transfer 2.9 million euros for the reconstruction of the Nevesinje – Berkovići road, approved by the government of that country back in 2018. This outcome is a result of six years of procrastination by the authorities in Republika Srpska to fulfil their part of the obligations on the project, along with open attempts at manipulating non-refundable grants and trying to redirect these funds to other projects.

Courts ‘put out fires’ in fire stations

The Basic Court in Prijedor has issued a judgment obliging the City of Prijedor, specifically the Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit, to pay 48,200 BAM for non-material damage to firefighter S.B., who was seriously injured ten years ago while extinguishing a fire, eTrafika reports.
